A thong is a type of lingerie or underwear consisting of a narrow strip of material running through the crotch with each end affixed to a cord or narrow band round the waist. It may be worn my men or women.
It is usually made of cotton or nylon, but fetish versions are available in many materials.
The effect of this design is that the bottom is prominently displayed. Some leotards are thong-cut at the bottom to achieve the same effect.
Thongs are sometimes worn under tight trousers or skirts to minimise VPL.
