Verbal humiliation is the intense humiliation of one person by another through disparaging comments.

In a BDSM context, it is a form of humiliation or ego reduction in which the dominant partner in a relationship verbally degrades the submissive partner by verbalising the alleged inferiorities of the submissive partner. The submissive partner usually obtains sexual release during this humiliation.

The recipient may be tied up and gagged during this, to increase the humiliation and prevent response. Alternatively, he or she may be ordered not to respond, or punished, possibly physically, if there is a response.
