A heterosexual, heterosexual person or straight is someone who is sexually attracted to members of the opposite sex only.
Heterosexuality is used to contrast with homosexuality or bisexuality. The term is gender-neutral, equally applicable to males and females.
The word is derived by compounding the Greek stem hetero- meaning "different" with the Latin stem sexu-.
