The three powers is a power exchange theory in BDSM proposed by L T Morrison.

From this work the following ideas are extrapolated:

  • A power is something you can punish for when defined expectations are deviated from.
  • There are three power spheres inherited by the Master from the slave upon acceptance into service, Body, Behaviour and Attitude.
  • Each of those areas are something the Dom can come to control in the Sub through the consistant and responsible use of punishment.
