A '''ball and chain''' is a device to make it difficult for a [[captive]] to run away.  It consists of a heavy ball of [[steel bondage|metal]] attached by a [[chain]] to a [[cuff]] around the [[ankle]].  The weight of the ball makes it impossible to run while the ball is attached.

Such a device may be used in any [[scene]] where there is [[captive|captivity]] or [[imprisonment]], such as [[prison roleplay]].
