The point surely is that it has been very rare in modern times, at least in Britain and America, for men to wear such things. This could be the start of a new trend.--Speedoslover (talk) 18:39,
The fashion industry seems to be constantly throwing out various out-of-the-box quasi-trends or pseudo-trends to attempt to shake male attire out of its traditional fairly narrow rut (I remember non-plaid and non-Scottish-looking kilts from a few years ago), but only a small number of these catch on in any real way (outside of a rather tiny and painfully trendy group of men)...
