                  True Accounts

It has been suggested that necrophilia is a variation of pygmalionism (ie., arousal from statues).  If anything, I believe the truth is exactly the opposite since corpses certainly existed before statues.

My one and only experience with this fetish was private, brief, uneventful and hardly worth mentioning.  In a sentence, I spent approximately 20 seconds rubbing my ¼  erect penis against a porcelain statue (head) of the Virgin Mary.  Yawn!  (As as side note, I apologize if, in the course of these ‘zines, it seems as though I’m “talking down” some fetishes, but I’m only being honest with the readers.  While a great many ‘deviances’ arouse me to no end, others leave me completely flat.)

Well, if nothing else, this experience has left me the opportunity to bestow upon the readers an AWFUL pun.  (Hmm…I wonder if there is such a thing as a ‘pun fetish’  ??)  Since the Virgin Mary was said to have been 12 years old at the time of Jesus’ birth, does that make me guilty of ‘statutory rape’ ?

                                            Odds ‘n Ends

According to the October 21, 2006 issue of the Detroit Free Press, a 39 year old man was arrested and jailed for the sixth time in 13 years for breaking into stores to steal mannequins.  The headline said it all:  “Fetish returns parolee to jail”  The dummy that he allegedly stole was said to have been wearing a French maid uniform at the time of ‘her’ abduction.

Agalmatophilia is a term also used for attraction to statues and/or mannequins although it is less commonly known.

(KC)  lol I love your stories and the yawn had me laughing.

I think more than anything I'd like to know how people get fetishes, what causes certain things to become a fetish to some and not others.

Yes! That is the $64,000 question. What is it about certain actions/characteristics that arouse some, repulse others and simply bore still others ? Take scat, for example. I can TELL you that I enjoy the taste, smell, sight, sounds, etc. associated (ASSociated ?) ) w/ the act, but I can't fully EXPLAIN why it means so much to me. In much the same vein, guys who love big hooters or women who love big dicks can rattle on about how 'bigger is better' and so forth, but from a 'rational' point of view, what is the real point either way ??

Like the old question about how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll sucker, we may never know. I guess we'll just have to rely on the old axiom: Different strokes for different folks

Agalmatophilia is an uncommon fetish or paraphilia, also known as Pygmalionism after the Greek myth of Pygmalion.

In its most literal sense the term means sexual attraction to statues. This may also be extended to mannequins and/or dolls.

In a broader sense the term may refer to sexual fantasies about oneself and/or others being transformed into, or simply rendered as motionless as, a statue, mannequin or doll. Such fantasies may of course be extended to roleplaying.

There is a broad crossover between agalmatophilia and robot fetishism or ASFR (alt.sex.fetish.robots).
